Before School/Breakfast Program

Parents can drop off their children at the center before school where they receive a nutritious breakfast and are then ushered on to school buses for their ride to school.

After School Program

We are now offering an after school program ran directly by Northwest Community Center. We are offering a variety of academic enrichment activities as well as regular supervised indoor and outdoor physical activities. For information on the After School Program please contact Gerry Ford, or Juanita Martin,

Free Tutoring

Northwest Community Center has partnered with Growing Scholars Educational Center to offer free tutoring to students who qualify under the 2001 No Child Left Behind Act, which was put in place to improve the academic achievement of disadvantaged children. Tutoring sessions will be offered at the center for 10 weeks starting January 7th, 2013.

Growing Scholars Educational Center (GSEC) is on track to becoming one of the nation's leading authorities in meeting the individualized educational needs of children! GSEC provides a specifically tailored approach to providing the foundation needed for academic success and help families identify their children's voice in education. GSEC works with children in Pre-K through 12th grade to help them acheive their goals and reach their academic potential by planting the seeds by which scholars grow!

What sets GSEC apart from other tutoring services is the personalized enrichment services they are able to provide through the Beyond the Bell Programs (where learning never ends) and G.R.O.W. Programs! GSEC's method is to provide children with unconventional enrichment opportunities through robotics, science, math, and technological experiences far beyond the traditional approach to learning.
