ABOUT US
Northwest Community Center is a
not-for-profit neighborhood organization founded in 1948. Its mission is to
provide a wide variety of programs, events and activities
that will serve to improve and enhance the quality of life in
Northwest Rockford.
Approximately 30,000 people, about 20% of the city's total population of
150,000 live in northwest Rockford. The racial composition is 60% Caucasian and
40% African American, one of the most integrated areas of the community. The
employment rate is along state and national levels. Most families and
individuals are blue collar, working class families.
Northwest Community Center serves approximately 7,000 individuals annually
through a wide variety of programs and services.
